It’s hard to believe that October is upon us and we have already done so much since our holiday break already. Lots of fun, lots of work and lots of success, September has been an exciting month. Our first project was Burnley Festival of Dance where the adjudicator Geoff Lucas gave us so much valuable feedback along with lots of positive comments. The standard of the festival was very high and the company members that attended the event were inspired and motivated. The sign of a good festival I think! Redcar ballet championships were staged at the same time as Burnley so some of our company members took part in this event instead and achieved fantastic success. The adjudicator Miss Vicky Durning was very positive and made a point of encouraging every dancer to be proud of their performance and to continue to develop their skills. Moving on to the last weekend in September we all got on the early morning bus to attend the UKA Performer of the Year Awards. What a fantastic event which was carefully organised by Miss Anne Green and her team of invaluable helpers. There were many new company members with us this year and some very excited young winners. There are too many individual successes from September to mention so I have included some photographs of the team with their awards. Our first event in October is “Smile” at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House on 2nd. It promises to be hilarious and it’s all in a good cause.
